Every poet tells stories, sometimes
even both sides.
I more usually take one speaker's head
for a ride,
With the goal that the audience and
insight collide
and over the realm of psychology glide.
Behind long-practiced humor
unconvincingly hides
The long-practiced writer's old ego and
pride.
