People so close their leaving might
leave rotten spots in my soul
Have left, or been taken. They're
nearly forgotten, and I'm nearly whole.
Few memories or losses have scarred me.
Others have a nostalgic effect.
Is the human heart a healing miracle,
or has mine some unfeeling defect?
