This Creator's Hubris

A mirror in the home of a beautiful girl
Reflects beauty it's shown to the rest of the world.
How absurd if the mirror would take into its head
That it doesn't reflect, but creates it instead?
Yet, minds, such as mine, of middling artists
Are vulnerable to this Creator's Hubris.

  1. I went and rhymed "girl" with "world" again, because I'm an unredeemed hack...which is more or less exactly the point of the poem.

  2. I didn't read your comment before I read this, and I didn't stop there thinking that it didn't flow well or something. I didn't stop anywhere until the last word, but then I consulted my dictionary and read it again and liked it even more than the first time (which was a lot).

  3. Also, can I share this on my blog where I post things that other people write?
