Why I Write, Part x+59: Comparisons (For the Improvement of Poetry)

The Bards compare their lovers to all imaginable things,
But, regardless of how true the comparisons ring
They leave those things behind.  That inspirational treasure
Is explored but unmapped.  They take a half-measure
In pursuit of understanding every thing the Muse provides.
It's a frustrating habit.  It's one more reason to write.
