Of Romans and Wolves

Cavemen could tell stories, draw, provide their own defense.
So art wasn't what we purchased.  Who we are was the expense.
A culture of convenience found us and took hold.
We are Romans who should have been wolves,
Inseperable comrades in the struggle for life,
But the urban ally or feud poste-haste, once they scent strife.
