Failure

I'll have time and room for confidence, pride,
When I can see, and beat, the threats from every side:
Good storytellers can also tell lies
Which I may fail to recognize.
School's tests show the unknown to me,
Find crevasses in my memory.
I take great care each time I read
I won't missguess where their plots lead.
Games with balls are ripe for fumbling.
In those without, I still risk stumbling.
Who can bear to drop or lose things?
It's a minute to find them, or poor observing.
I'd rather be perfect in everything I do.
When the world comes up, trips you,
Hits you where you're frail, you're
A waste, you're a fraud, you're a failure.
