Mordor-by-the-Sea

Not at all what a tourist thinks Hawai'i should be,
Kilauea's a striking sort of Mordor-by-the-Sea
Where water boils and lava floes burn.
It's Yellowstone garnished with tropical ferns.
New land forms by the ocean -- get it while it's hot!
The lava isn't cool for very long before you've got
Hardy trees springing from temperamental young ground,
Reproduction two-by-four-by-eight until life abounds
In a little forest that was once a great scar.  Spend some time
Where everything grows like the rocks are alive.
