Why I Write, Part x+148: It's the Wrong Thing to Do

I write because I can have it.
If I see a new phrase I like, I can grab it,
and hardly anyone says it's the wrong thing to do.
Some of them even approve.

I write because it's a habit,
Because I can, and I want to, and I like it,
Not the best of reasons, I'll admit,
But it's cheap entertainment, and mostly harmless.

I write because I'm an addict
To the temporary presence of the Holy Spirit,
and this is the easiest way to feel it,
A running faucet to the Ohio River flood
Of God's all-forgiving, everlasting love.
