Awakened

I'm awakened, alarmed, not by clocks but by fear
Of deadlines and tests and tasks that draw near.
So many things I knew ought to be done,
But I stayed up late and was out having fun.
I pray for the strength to begin all these tasks.
God's answer came before I'd even asked.
