The Line-Drawers

You think you a Christian or a Coloradan or an American,
But what you are is a cell in a night-cloaked demon.
As a culture, we are not what we wish to believe we are.
First and foremost, we are the line-drawers,
Dividing categories such as black and white,
Child, teen, and adult, wrong and right,
Rich and poor, male and female, living or dead,
Undecided, independent, blue or red.
The line-drawers connect privilege to sympathy,
Labor to money, money to power, Point A to Point B
Ruthlessly.
