Revisionist History

The long human use of revisionist history
Is more a "that figures" than some kind of mystery.
When reviewing our lives, the reviews come back mixed,
and the past, which is gone, can never be fixed,
But memories aren't.  They record.  They remain.
You can't straighten up timelines.  You can tidy your brain.
It's inaccurate, half fiction, deceptive -- just fine.
I like my past the way it was when it went down the second time.
