I have heard that money talks.
It's true. I have heard the buck's
breathy beckoning.
It told me that family is a resource,
That I have a network–not friends,
But stepping stones and stair treads,
That my time is only worth
What I invest in the economy,
That my life is only worth
What I invest in the economy,
That should sell my very soul
To become a “contributing member of
society.”
When money talks, all reason walks,
But I run.
